An Aloha Reception
“Sushi, Sake, Seafood & Champagne”
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, Napili Gardens
featuring Hyatt’s Japengo and Umalu restaurants, and Hula Grill
The evening will feature creative and memorable dishes from our newest fine-dining restaurant, Japengo. Japengo re-opened in December of 2010 after undergoing a 5 million dollar renovation and has recently been voted “Best New Resort Restaurant in 2011,” featuring the best seafood, sushi and steaks on the island of Maui.
Chef Gevin Utrillo and Sushi Chef David “Jay” Ledee have partnered together to create dishes that highlight the freshest local ingredients that the Hawaiian Islands have to offer. These ingredients are sure to tempt your palates with a wide variety of sushi, rolls, and sashimi. If that weren’t enough, the two star chefs will also feature “Shrimp and Sake Cocktail Sauce Shooters,” along with a variety of the freshest shellfish the Pacific has to offer. To complement these dishes, the Japengo team has selected the best sake and champagne to pair with these delicate flavors.
There may be no more delicious embodiment of Island culture and hospitality than Hula Grill—a plantation home of the 1930s, stunning views out on the Pacific Ocean and the islands of Lanai and Molokai, Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce combined to create menu offerings that are vibrant and flavorful. Join Hula Grill’s Chef Chris Schobel at the Aloha reception in the Hyatt, where he will be serving a sampling of some of the best fresh Hawaii regional seafood. Enjoy Poke Tacos, Poisson Cru and Scallop Lobster Potstickers.
